Relationships
Relationships

Healthy relationships are a critical component to our health and wellness. Take a moment and consider your relationships with others:

  • Do you feel understood?

  • Do you feel genuine and authentic?

  • Are you honest and open with your thoughts, feeling and behaviors?

  • Do others really see you for who you are and accept you?

  • Are you vulnerable with others?

  • Do you trust others?

As infants we are dependent on others for emotional engagement. A study in the mid 1900's showed that infants that did not receive emotional engagement from a care giver where approximately 34% more likely to experience infant mortality. Another more modern study showed that not having social relationships had the same impact as smoking 15 cigarette's a day.

Developing healthy relationships with others plays a critical role in our health and wellness. However, many of us struggle to feel that we can be open and honest and truly connected with others. Research shows that developing the skills and abilities to genuinely connect with others can add years and quality of years to our lives. Come and learn to really connect with others.
